quatrix
Quatrix is a competitive matching and capture game for two players.
On her turn, a player must place an X- or □-shaped piece of her color, depending on the constraint imposed by her opponent’s last piece.
As soon as a player has lined up four pieces of her color or captured four squares of the same color, she wins the game.

Game Overview
Quatrix combines line-building and area control strategy with a forcing mechanic. Every move restricts the opponent's freedom of action.
Goal of the Game (Instant Win)
You win the game immediately if:
- You form a continuous line of 4 of your color (horizontal, vertical, diagonal).
OR
- You occupy (capture) 4 squares of the same color (e.g., 4x Blue) with your pieces.
Gameplay
Place a piece on an empty cell. The symbol on your piece dictates the opponent's mandatory next move:
- X Symbol: The opponent must place their next piece on a cell in a diagonal line from your piece.
- Square Symbol (□): The opponent must place their next piece on a cell in an orthogonal line (horizontal/vertical).
- Free Choice: If all cells in the required directions are occupied, the opponent may place their piece anywhere on an empty cell.
Pro Tips
Be careful to not let your opponent capture quickly 3 same colors !
Keep a balance between your X and □ pieces but force your opponent to spend one of the kind.
