The villages are buzzing with anticipation in just twelve days, the Shogun’s birthday will arrive. To honor him, artisans across the land are preparing their finest works. Now, Ludonaute invites players to step into this vibrant world with the release of Arigatō, a new strategic card game where timing, planning, and clever combinations are the keys to earning the Shogun’s favor.
In Arigatō, each player becomes the leader of a village, rallying their artisans to produce exquisite offerings. The game unfolds over twelve rounds, echoing the twelve days leading up to the Shogun’s grand celebration. Each round is divided into three simultaneous phases, giving the game a dynamic rhythm where every decision matters.
- Dawn: Players secretly assign roles to their five artisans in hand. Who will remain as a resident? Who will travel? Who will craft? With one resident, two travelers, and two crafters chosen each round, the foundation of your strategy begins here.
- Day: All artisans are revealed. Producer artisans provide valuable objects, resident effects are triggered, and players must juggle resources to gather the specific items their residents demand. Every choice shapes the offerings you will be able to deliver.
- Dusk: The Shogun’s daily whims are revealed. Meeting his expectations grants bonus favors, while missed opportunities may cost you dearly.
At the end of twelve rounds, only the most skillful leader, the one who has collected the most favors through offerings, clever play, and strategic objectives will earn the Shogun’s highest regard.
True to Ludonaute’s style, Arigatō balances accessible mechanics with rich layers of strategy. The simultaneous play keeps the game brisk and interactive, while the variety of artisan abilities and Shogun’s shifting demands ensure no two games unfold the same way.
Whether you are carefully planning long-term strategies or adapting on the fly to seize unexpected opportunities, Arigatō rewards both foresight and flexibility.
As the Shogun’s birthday draws near, the question remains: will your village rise to the occasion? Click below to play it:
