I think there's an issue with the translation for the English rules. It took me a long time to understand how the number of combat cards are determined since the English rules refer to the number of free spaces around the tile. The "free spaces" around the left and right sides of the tile area don't have borders so I didn't consider them to be "free spaces".
Looking at the original French versus the English:
Pour chaque côté vide (sans autre tuile) autour de la choisie, piocher 1 carte Combat.
vs
Draw 1 red card per free space (with no tile) around the tile chosen.
I believe that "côté" translates to "side" in English? That makes a lot more sense to me. Then we count the number of sides without tiles.
If you agree hopefully you can get this feedback on the rules back to the publisher.
In the rules in the Wiki, it's closer to this:
* Draw combat cards: Draw as many Combat cards from your Combat deck as there are free space around the enemy. The top side with water does not count as free sides.
This refers to both "free space" and "free sides". It would be better if the "free space" was changed to "free sides" or "empty sides".

Roll-istor an danevelloù bog
I can change the wiki, no problem.
And I will show your report to the publisher. As far as I know, the games are being printed right now but this could be added to a FAQ or adjusted in a future printing.
Thanks!
Thank you for taking the time to write all of this and helping to make the game better!
I'll close this improvement here!
