While the current player is still choosing a starting world, the opponent's starting world is displayed as soon as they choose it. This may give the player who takes longer to pick an advantage, as they have more information about what their opponent is doing and can factor it into their decision.

"Choose but don't reveal, except still reveal it later" action are non-trivial to implement on BGA. It sounds like it'd be simple because it's easy to do in real life, but BGA isn't keen on that sort of thing naturally. Consequently, this is an improvement that's on my radar to implement, but will take a back seat to more pressing bugs for the time being.
BGA's framework makes it difficult to make changes without letting other players see them. It's not impossible, of course, but the framework doesn't do that natively. It needs to be implemented specifically for the situation.
Imagine I've asked you to paint my portrait. Telling you, "Neighbor Bob already painted a portrait of someone else. Just do that!" sounds like it should make your job easier, but it doesn't actually make your art go any faster.
