(damn, pretty sure I wrote the following info somewhere... but it is not here!)
After reloading, I noticed the arrows still in highlight are the one done since last refresh.
z-order seems to be:
* map
* arrows already present when loading the page
* shadow
* arrows added since page was loaded

Agreed, all the arrows should be bright. And, it would be much more useful to highlight the end points of the route s(the most recently reached destination for each color).
There seems to be no reason to highlight which arrows I placed.
