I very much appreciate that most actions while the harvest phase are automated.
However, having to convert goods into food and arranging the newborn animals are still taking a lot of time while the harvest phase (especially in the last rounds), because one has to wait for each single player to finish these tasks. If converting food and arranging animals would be possible while another player's turn, it might save a good amount of time in the harvest phase, because experienced players can prepare for the phase in advance without others having to wait for this action.

"You may rearrange your animals on your Home board whenever and how often you like as long as you abide by the following rules." and "To feed your Dwarfs, you may convert goods into Food at any time (without constraints). "
Another solution would be to perform the harvest phase simultaneously, which was rejected before because the decision of one player might influence other players.
I added a comment to the other proposal request, because i didn't find the spot in the rules that states the harvest phase should be played one after another player.
Also, animals reorganization is automatic, it only need human action if you don't have enough room for them.
So yeah that could speed the game a bit, but not sure it's worth the complexity of code.
Which also means you should never have to discard an animal. After Breeding, if you have too many animals and not enough space, you would immediately convert them into Food.
This is not Agricola, where they wander off and you lose the benefit of breeding completely.
I know its a fair amount more programming but it would be enough to make me play it much more because the down time on others turn in this game can suck, especially when you can see, oh i want to just move those animals over there while I wait but I can't.
I would be satisfied if instead of "anytime", conversions and rearranging were simultaneous only during the harvest phase. Permitting other players to make swooshing noises and movements during your turn could be distracting while you are trying to think.
That said, the current situation of forcing you to wait while 2-6 other player perform their conversions 1-by-1 explode the playtime in such a way that is insufferable. This might be the only game where I think live play could beat BGA for playtime, and it's entirely for this reason. The expected playtime for a BGA 4 player game is reported as 2:40, and the harvest phase is probably contributing 30 minutes to that total.
The argument that someone might change their harvest based on my harvest is such an infinitely narrow use case, I fail to recognize the validity of the argument. At the very least, simultaneous harvests could be an option, and the current "excruciating mode" should be made a non-default toggle.
