When I cancel a move, the countdown counter display resets to the full time. The actual timer behind the scenes continues so it is fair for all players. Did not try F5 to see if resolve the problem? In a Fast game, there is pressure to complete a long turn even more quickly if cancel a move midstream. I think this happens consistenty. It has happend to me more than once.
