This happens in nearly every game of Catan I play here: I get my third choice color, purple, rather than my first choice color, which is blue. This happens in games where nobody has blue, as well as in games where someone else has blue. The info on the right side always tells me that my colors have been chosen according to my preferences, but I have never once gotten my first choice color (blue) yet, despite having played over 30 games.

Another table where I got purple, and someone else has blue: boardgamearena.com/9/catan?table=286854734\
On that second table, the beginning of the move log says "The colors of Cos- have been chosen according to their preferences" - meaning, I'm the only paid member with color preferences at this table, so nobody else's preferences should have mattered. Yet I got purple (my 3rd choice) and someone else got blue (my 1st choice).
In this table I got white and another player got red : boardgamearena.com/table?table=291937910
I tried to temporarily disable the second color choice before a game, and then I got my first choice which is red.
So it seems it gets confused when there are more than one choices.
