At the end of round 7, I had sheep in my farmyard and I had played the occupation Sheepwalker (B104). According that card, I can exchange sheep for other things *at any time*.
In the Harvest phase, I wanted to turn one sheep into a vegetable. I wanted to turn that vegetable into a food and keep one of my food coins for the next round. However, the system automatically paid four food and didn’t wait for me to make an action. Apparently, it didn’t recognize that I had an option to produce food from sheep.
In the breeding phase, offspring was produced and I had one sheep too many. The system gave me no option but to discard it. I think it’s correct that once the sheep had breeded, one walked away. But the system didn’t recognize that I could have used the sheep walker just before the breeding phase.
So the way the programming has been done, there seems to be a restriction on the moments that you can use the sheepwalker.• Displegit deomp, mar-plij, ar pezh ho poa c'hoant d'ober, ar pezh ho peus graet hag ar pezh a zo c'hoarvezet 'benn ar fin

Roll-istor an danevelloù bog
Thanks for your attention and keep up the great work.
Fireplace also allows players to convert sheep to food at any time so it should be possible to implement "at any time" for sheep walker theoretically.
In my understanding, the solution for Fireplace is to add an ad-hoc button to every possible usage. For example, a "Cook sheep" button is added at the end of the reorganize-animals operation. So let's enumerate the usage of sheep walker.
- Before the reorganize-animals operation. I think the developers already know when reorganize-animals operation is needed.
- Before the start of the rounds (e.g. Horse-Drawn Boat let a player get a sheep at the start of a round)
- When a "Cook sheep" button appears (We may want to exchange a sheep for a wild boar to get more food.)
- After the last breeding phase (boardgamearena.com/bug?id=55375)
Do you know any other usage?
-Before feeding phase (you may want to turn sheep into veggies)
-Before breeding phase (if you foresee that you will have more animals than you can accomodate)
-Before the end of game, which could indeed be after the last breeding phase
Unfortunately I did find this (older) bug report only now or I would not have needed to start a new report...
I think that asking
- Before feeding phase
- Before breeding phase
- After the breeding phase
should solve the problem.
But as you write - just considering Sheep Walker as a special action could solve the problem too.
Basically they wanted to do normal conversions to vegs & boars to breed, but the game just slams a bunch of error messages in everyone's faces and throw them all out. Both times, the only solution was to refresh endlessly, somehow get back in the game and just give up on converting altogether.

Move #494
During the harvest phase, I turned 3 sheep into 3 pigs and cooked 1 of the pigs. I then got the option to consume 10 food for the feeding; or to rearrange animals. I needed to rearrange to make it fit, however the game froze when I picked that option. I reloaded, and now picked the feeding option. This was successful, but the game now no longer let me rearrange, and rather kept the additional pigs next to the farm. I was able to rearrange later.
You'll see I commented to other players during rearrangement that I had no opportunity to do exchange. Once I did rearrangement, I saw and clicked the confirm before I noticed the exchange was present during confirm. Proposal: Show exchange dialogue during rearrangement. Any of the "at any time" exchanges should be active. (I'm not sure whether this is already done at times other than the game end.)
As for the confirm timer, this is an optional setting that you can easily disable
I had 3 sheep before the harvest (1 in my house, 2 in 2 stables), and food was auto-payed in feeding phase. However in breeding phase I could ONLY discard the 4th sheep, and the system did not allow me to go to exchange center to convert 1 (previously existing) sheep to vegetable. This should be allowed as it would not be against any rules.
The workaround is to set the "Auto reorganize" to manual so in case you breed animals, right after organizing them and hitting the CONFIRM button, you will have some seconds to enter Exchange mode.
In game boardgamearena.com/6/agricola?table=320215379&replayFrom=681 I could convert 2 sheep (1 newly bred and stored, and 1 previuosly existing) getting 2 valuable points deciding the game.
At the end of the match I had four boars and five sheep, with no extra room. At the breeding phase I received one of each. I intended to convert one existing sheep to a vegetable, accept both new animals, and then convert three more sheep to vegetables, leaving me with five boars and two sheep. Instead I was forced to cook two sheep before accepting any newly bread animals, leaving me with insufficient sheep and costing me a point. I lost the game 51 points to 50. Very disappointing!
