I like the volunteer mechanism, though I do think it would be helpful if each player who has been a Storyteller is exempt from volunteering for it again until everyone who has not been the Storyteller turns down the chance. For turn-based games, the players who are online the most will almost certainly have more opportunities to score points.
For example, in a 4-player game, if I have already been the Storyteller on a previous turn, when the chance to volunteer comes up, I cannot choose to volunteer until everyone who has not been the Storyteller turns down their chance. Once they all do, it opens up to everyone else again. -
