• Mar-plij, eilit/pegit ar gemennadenn fazi a zo war ho skramm, ma zo unan.
I participated in a Giraffe Raffe tournament (boardgamearena.com/tournament?id=366115) and finished with two victories and two defeats, exactly as user darthdalek did. I wondered why she was declared third winner of the tournament and I was given only 4th place when we had the same results. When I asked support about this, Emma from the support team told me "ties are broken randomly by the algorythm". I think this is ridiculous, as it could easily be changed. In such cases, you could give both players a reward for the third place, for example. If you prefer only one player in each rank, there are several tie breakers possible. In this tournament everyone played against everyone, so you could look at the direct comparison between two tied players. I won against darthdalek, so I proved I was a better player than her! Alternatively, you could choose the player who needed less moves or less time, if you want to. Everything would be better than letting the algorythm decide randomly.
In another Giraffe Raffe tournament (boardgamearena.com/tournament?id=375146) the same problem occured again: user Cyclope and I had 13 victories and one defeat each. He was declared winner of the tournament and I only second. And once again, I had defeated him, so I proved better! This is really frustrating.
I see this can't be changed for past tournaments, but it has to be changed for future ones. -
