The rulebook says play proceeds to the left (i.e. clockwise) however the game has green going after me despite him being on my right. Incidentally I think it would also be a good idea to put the play areas in turn order (the player panels already are, but if I scroll down to check what cards my partner has the intuitive location should be right after the person who goes after me, rather than at the bottom of the screen.)

While it is technically true that play should be clockwise, the direction of turn order is irrelevant practically speaking. Its not worth taking the time to code this up IMHO, sorry.
I believe that you are right that the player tableaus order should match the player panel order. I will implement this change.
