A misclick in this game can be fatal for a player. An undo would be nice.

Almost all moves require a 'confirm' to proceed, some of them cannot be undone, for example the one that let's you choose between 3 contracts from the 'contracts' pile.
Moreover, It would need an additional 'confirm/undo' before next player could play.

There's a move type that caused you a specific problem?

place a tile, start to collect friends bonus, realize that you needed to do this in different order -- maybe you don't have enough $$ or merchants. Or cancelled the wrong one when you have two options.

There are a lot of confirmation dialogs, but they tend to just get clicked immediately out of habit.

One of my coplayers in a friend game has made a mistake like this in each of our last two games and it really ruins the gameplay for everyone.

I'd go so far as to have a "request a reply of turn" button if you ended your turn and the next player hasn't gone yet, maybe with a 2 minute threshold. And the rest of the players need to approve. I'd only want to opt-in enable it in friend games, as it could be used to annoy and slow down others -- like who's time is ticking while we wait for everyone to approve?

this mirrors the behavior we'd allow over a real board at home.

My first three games were really painful to play, as I made similar mistakes like grangaard just explained. I placed expensive figure next to something I really needed in game, and realised only after paying 20 coins I didn't get the neighbouring bonus because there is river, no way starting over even after my turn wasn't over. Same game, the few turns later I finally found another spot where I could get the resource I need, just realising I don't have merchants. Too late to do anything once you place item... I ended up spending more than 50 coins without getting the resource I tried to get, because I couldn't cancel after I realised I made a mistake (I was still learning). I could have won the game, but because I couldn't cancel accidents I ended up losing.

I'd really want to see "restart turn" button. This is the game that needs it most out of all games on BGA and one of the few that doesn't have it.

I would be nice also if the game said after placing and before confirming if you are going to get adjacency bonus or not (and how many merchants you have available for trade)

I agree with this, "I would be nice also if the game said after placing and before confirming if you are going to get adjacency bonus or not (and how many merchants you have available for trade)" It's a mistake I tend to make frequently...going for the neighborhood bonus only to realize I only have 1 merchant and I was hoping to get 3 of the items at the reduced cost. Surely there's a way to make an undo option, Teotihuacan has an optional undo and it has some pretty long strings of action that can pile up.

Some of the reasons this game REALLY needs an Undo or Restart Turn option, from just one game today with 3 players repeatedly exlaiming outloud 'Is there an Undo button?!?" to the point where we abandoned the game to start over.

Accidentally buying rather selling a good - can't undo.
Realizing right *after* selecting something that its in the wrong order and its now impossible to do the next 3 planned turns.
Placed Distillery instead of Bakery (somewhat similar shapes).
Bought the wrong good.

I agree with the above posters. In light of the fact that no new information is revealed during a player's turn nor can other players interrupt or otherwise act during another player's turn, I think it's entirely appropriate to have the option to restart one's turn.

Yes, it needs a turn undo. We are having trouble with the game because there is no undo. Especially when you are just learning. Some games have a game set up option of " undo available" . We have found ONE situation where an undo would not have been fair- where you have the contract port and you get to see a choice of three contracts. Everything else would have been allowed to undo IRL, because the player would have realised Before their turn was completed.

Essentially an "Undo my turn" similar to how you have implemented in Caverna is needed. I want to be able to do my entire turn, see how things cost, plan things out, and then just back out if I want to try something else.

There is no new information when you place a building that if you realize that its the wrong building you should be able to undo.

For example, I placed a cow but should have placed grain. I haven't bought anything yet, but I would like to undo to place the grain in that location instead of the cow.

Ark Nova has a nice confirmation mechanism implemented. You can restart your turn up to the very end. However, if you will see drawn cards (irrevocable), it warns you that you can't go back at that point - similar to solving the problem of seeing the auction tiles.

Agree that an undo / restart turn button would be very useful in this game.

I just ran into a bug where I can't use the neighbor discount even though it's giving me the option. And yet I can't undo the move, so I'm forced to Decline the discount and stay stuck in the spot anyway.

An Undo function would be incredibly helpful right now.

I do not have the stamina right now to read through all the suggestions, but here is my take on it. There are as the original author said fatal to do some mistakes, the worst of them all is selling instead of buying. This just locks you out of the game if it is turn 4 or 5. So you spend an hour to just get it screwed for a miss click while no new info is added to the game. It sucks. Prob will stop playing the game since it actually happens every other game for at least one of the 3-4 players,

I believe it si only need for the sell/buy misstake though, everything else is no t back braking for the game.

I don’t understand how an Undo is not a part of this game. It is like playing with the most strict group of players that won’t allow you to adjust your turn. Accidentally sold instead of bought? Too bad, you miss out on that contract. Did you use the port bonus not realizing you cannot afford it? Wasted. Better luck next time.
